I just received my R290 satellite phone from *e1* on Ebay and after wasting 3-4 hours trying to get it to work in satellite mode, it now makes and receives sat calls.

However I think there may be a problem with the charging system or the batteries may be suspect, so I have a couple of questions I am hoping you can answer in order to isolate the problem.

1. Does the phone power up without the battery if the main charger is plugged in and turned on ?

2. If the battery is full, does the phone indicate via display message that the battery is full ?

3. Any other quirky charging tips ?
