First of all I would like to thank you for creating a forum dedicated to satellite phones... Well anyways I am heading down to Cuba this summer and was looking at renting an Iridium phone for the two weeks ill be down there. Just wanted to get some feedback on the service of Iridium and if anyone has used a satellite phone before.

I have been looking at several companies to rent the phone and talked to them on the phone a few times. After doing the math it would cost me close to $380 after I get my security deposit back. That includes the rental/minutes/insurance/shipping/security deposit.

Also I wanted to know how is text messaging, and thy say text messaging is free but would it be free to those persons sending test message to me from the US?
